Held in Adam and Olivia’s beautiful home nestled in the tranquil mountains of coastal California, this 2-night, 3-day container is designed for sincere seekers who feel the pull toward real inner change and transformation.

Rooted in Ayahuasca lineage through Athena Naia’s blessing, Zen Lineage and Rose Mysteries, this retreat brings together three powerful streams of wisdom and healing.

By booking a private retreat, you will be held in loving support in a strong container that’s here just for you.

The Luminous Heart is a 2-night, 3-day private retreat that includes two nights of Ayahuasca ceremony and guided integration.

This is a highly intimate container for 1-4 individuals who wish to work closely with two seasoned practitioners in a deeply held, trauma-informed and spiritually-rich space.

Preparation. You’ll have 1–2 preparation calls to clarify your intentions, review any mental health or physical considerations, and establish the emotional and nervous-system groundwork needed for this level of deep healing. Olivia’s training in counseling psychology, trauma work, embodiment, and psychedelic integration informs the way your inner landscape is prepared and tended to. Adam's background as an ordained Zen Monk and Curandero will inform his prayers, guided meditations, and energetic preparations for you.

Ceremony. You will sit in two ceremonies held by the lineage of the Shipibo curanderas in the Ucayali region of the Amazon jungle. Ceremonies will be infused with Adam’s Zen training rooted in bringing deep spiritual practice into every day life as well as Olivia’s Rose Mystery devotion connecting you to the depth of love available all around us and finding the beauty in the whole human experience. Ceremonies with Adam and Olivia tune your energetic and physical bodies to call in ancestral blessings and clearings that ground and align you to show up with more love and presence in your life.

Integration. You’ll have on-site integration sessions around ceremonies plus a follow-up integration session over Zoom, supporting you in meaning-making, and integrating insights into your relationships and daily rhythms. Practices may include meditation, parts work, somatic awareness, guided meditations and gentle body practices that help your system feel safe enough to truly open.

Adam and Olivia serve ayahuasca with deep respect for Earth Temple’s teachings and the blessing they have received from Maestra Athena Naia to carry this medicine within her lineage.

Adam | Zen Buddhism & the Way of Clear Seeing

Adam’s path is steeped in Zen practice — years of meditation, inquiry, and learning to sit inside reality as it is. He is an ordained Zen monk and authorized Zen teacher who received transmission in the Light Lineage of the Buddha.

In ceremony, this shows up as a rare steadiness: a capacity to remain calm, present, and uncluttered, even when the internal landscape gets stormy.

Olivia | Rose Mysteries, Trauma-Informed Depth Healing

Olivia is a therapist, somatic coach, poet and herbalist. Her work is a blend of depth psychology, trauma-informed care, embodiment, and the mystical heart-path of the Rose.

Through her therapy and coaching practice, she supports people in befriending their inner world: working with parts (IFS), nervous system regulation, and the “felt sense” of the body so that healing happens at a pace your system can actually integrate.

Her Rose lineage work is a devotional relationship with Rose as a master plant teacher and living symbol of the heart’s path of the great Mother. She has walked this path through her own underworld initiations, and pilgrimages to sacred sites such as Crete and the Magdalen and Black Madonna sites of France.

In ceremony and integration, Olivia brings:

Deep emotional attunement and gentle yet precise guidance
Parts work, inner seasons, and mythic framing to help you understand your process

In addition to being an Curandero who received the blessing to serve from Athena, Adam is also an ordained Zen monk who received transmission in the Light Lineage of the Buddha and is an authorized Zen teacher. He is also an accomplished videographer, working with light in everything he does.

He effortlessly weaves his plant medicine and Zen lineages in a way that is simultaneously vibrant and grounded. Adam’s devotion to his practice can be felt through his Icaros, guided meditations and healing modalities that he channels.

In addition to private and group sits, Adam is available for shamanic tune-ups, remote dietas and meditation support.

Olivia is a somatic coach, herbalist and poet and the founder of The Essential Self. She has traveled through many dark passages of trauma recovery and in so doing has come to have an intimacy with the roots of healing and an embodied approach to spirituality.

Her expertise is in working with people to befriend themselves, find their own inner wisdom, and feel more vibrantly alive in their bodies. She makes all who work with her feel deeply cared for, held and seen.

Olivia is available for therapy and coaching including preparation and integration sessions to help you receive the most benefit from your medicine practice as well as ongoing psychological and spiritual support

Where is this offering located?
The retreat is held in Adam and Olivia’s private home in Northern California. The exact location and directions are provided after booking.
Is this suitable for someone new to ayahuasca?
Yes, if there is a clear call and no medical contraindications. The container is intentionally small and includes robust preparation and integration, which is particularly supportive for first-time drinkers.
Do I need prior meditation or spiritual experience?
No specific background is required. Adam and Olivia will meet you where you are and offer practices that are accessible wherever you are at on your journey.
What ayahuasca lineage do you work with?
Adam and Olivia serve within the lineage of their teacher, Curandera Athena Naia, who carries the Shipibo Mahua lineage of the Peruvian Amazon. Athena has spent over 15 years immersed in traditional healing and shamanic arts.

Athena trained for many years in the Shipibo Mahua lineage, and has learned under Shipibo maestras such as Maestra Amelia Ronen and Maestra Manuela Mahua.

Adam and Olivia carry this lineage with immense respect, having received Athena’s blessing to serve ayahuasca within the integrity, safety, and ceremonial frameworks she upholds.

Their offering honors the Shipibo traditions while integrating their own paths of Zen Buddhism, trauma-informed care, and the Rose mysteries.
Are there any dietary restrictions?
Preparing for Ayahuasca does require a monastic lifestyle that includes adjustments to ones spiritual, psychological, and physical habits.

Removing certain foods and habits is to become more attuned to the subtle energy field of life, and the teachings of a particular plant teacher to support you and those around you in your life.

This includes a particular list of foods to eliminate from your diet, as well as certain consumptive patterns and exposures to avoid such as alcohol, drugs, porn, sex, masturbation, pork, beef, dairy, coffee, sugars, oils, salt etc.

Upon registering, you will receive a detailed guideline for your dieta preparation protocol. You can always reach out to your space holders directly with clarification questions.
What is the preparation like?
You’ll have 1–2 prep calls to explore intentions, personal history, and any health concerns. You’ll also receive guidance on dieta, emotional preparation, and how to support your nervous system before ceremony.
What does integration support look like?
After the retreat, you’ll have scheduled integration calls with Adam and Olivia to unpack your experience, understand insights, and translate them into real-life changes. You’ll also have a window of time for private messaging support for questions or wobblier moments.
Are there any medical or psychological contraindications?
Yes. Certain medications, heart conditions, and psychiatric diagnoses may be contraindicated with ayahuasca. This is always reviewed in detail during the intake and preparation process. If needed, they may consult with your existing care providers or refer you to alternative support.
Can couples attend together?
Yes. Couples often find that sitting together allows old patterns to surface in a context where they can be lovingly worked through, with support, rather than acted out.

In these calls you will together schedule when the private retreat will take place based on both of your availabilities.
What is your refund policy?
If any contraindications arise during your intake process, you will receive a full refund. In the case of last-minute illness or genuine emergency, we’re happy to reschedule your retreat at no additional cost. Otherwise, all bookings are non-refundable.
